Surprising My Mom by Secretly Learning Her Language
She couldn’t believe it lol
The Fastest Way to Learn A New Language in 2024 : The Road Trip Method (ua-cam.com/video/kVHJ4kMC0t0/v-deo.html&t)
I learned how to speak Tagalog (Filipino) in 30 days so I could surprise my mom! To be clear, I could already understand pretty well, but simply couldn't speak the language. It's a phenomenon that linguistics call "receptive multilingualism."
The book I used to learn: (amzn.to/4ap1XgV)
A website that helped me out a lot: (www.tagalog.com/)
Shoutout to my man Edison for being a phenomenal Tagalog tutor and an even better friend. You can take lessons with him yourself right here! (www.italki.com/en/teacher/6376836)
And lastly, this video is dedicated to all the third-culture kids out there - I see you.

This was beautiful. As a Filipino who grew up in America, I am blessed to atleast understand what my parents are saying in tagalog but that all changed when we decided to live in the Philippines for a few years which forced me to speak it. Your 30 day challenge took me a couple of months before I became fluent. This video is impressive and heartwarming! Now that I am back in America, I hope other filipinos learn to speak it and amaze their parents. LEARN YOUR LANGUAGE!

This changed my view, of people with Filipino blood yet, doesn't speak Tagalog or their own language, whether they understand but can't speak it, or they want to learn about. As long as you have the willingness to learn it, you CAN learn it. The point is it's really important to learn your own heritage language. even if you're not Filipino by blood you can learn it if you want, even others who aren't, like others are pure Korean and they can speak Tagalog and they can speak more than the people with Filipino blood 🤣

I am kapampangan, I grew up overseas since I was 10, I understand it, but it is hard to converse with it sometimes, Same thing with Tagalog I understand it(even though it is not my first language). Speaking simple sentences is ok, but conversing like telling a story etc is harder.

I have never been... Filipino enough. Aww.. as a Latina in the US who has always kind of been the black sheep of the family, let me tell you, that line hits so hard. I have always been embarrassed that my Spanish is wrong. It wasn't until I jumped into an online discord for something I enjoy and started trying to talk in the Spanish channel that I started feeling more comfortable with it. Being accepted there and people just not at all minding my dumb mistakes has helped me strengthen my language and just generally feel closer to the culture I feel like I don't often get to take part of because I am in a primarily English-speaking country..

This is what happens when you take God and the Bible out. You have no purpose. People today hate anything scriptural and don't want to hear anything about the Bible. There are so many false religious teachers and philosophers everywhere online and in socials. These wicked teachers pretend to be a god and stroke their egos by coming up with some "wisdom" when in the end it doesn't save you, you still die because they are not the true God, Psalm 83:18
